Will you throw your hat to the ring?
The current Committee, led by Chairperson Emma Richardson, leaves a positive legacy of higher visibility, thanks to efforts in constant outbound communication, topical Town Halls and Richardson’s presence in MoodleMoots early on. But among the achievements, a heightened rhythm in the Project Development Cycles, thanks in part to a better communication with the Moodle HQ developer team, is the crown’s jewel. Merch and a site upgrade make for extra charms.
The new executive will be handed a consolidated agenda and streamlined workflows, as well as the persistent challenge to increase the volume of new sign-ups.
Rules allow re-election of current Committee members, seemingly without term limits nor repeat role restrictions, according to the current rules. Candidates can nominate themselves, or be nominated on their behalf by fellow members.
The Nominations will select the 6 to 10-person governance body of MUA. The role of President and others will be decided at a later time among the elected Committee. Members will be able to vote in each instance with as many votes as their category allows.
Committee membership nominations are open until Monday, August 6th. Anonymous voting among nominees will open the following Thursday, August 9th and will run for 3 weeks and 4 days, until September 3rd.
Until the closing date, new members have a chance to join MUA and participate in the elections.■
