Moodlerooms 3 is based on Moodle 3 and adopts all its improvement. This includes better responsiveness for Moodle Mobile. It also adds some proprietary functionality to blocks like Chat, Survey and Choice. It integrates with ePortfolio system Mahara. Mahara has been a long partner for Moodlers. Many teachers and moodlepreneurs use it to showcase their online courses.
New question types in Moodlerooms allow for visual quizzes and drag and drop as ways to answer. This can be useful for concept categorization or geographic tasks.
An important selling point in Moodlerooms is X-Ray Learning Analytics. The student behavior tracking and reporting tool strives to be more intuitive and give more actionable insight to teachers. Some sample indicators is percentage of at-risk students, platform visits and contribution in posts.
Other features include:
- Link to Guests to allow invited participants to join videoconferences without being a student or teacher in Moodle. This feature requires Blackboard Collaborate.
- Offline access to content, including video, for students.
- Accessibility options following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
Moodlerooms 3 uses the SNAP 3.0 theme. We have followed the theme in the past. Based on the Bootstrap framework for website design, it is responsive and simple to navigate.
