Moodle 3.2 – The “New Moodle” as coined by Founder and CEO – Dr. Martin Dougiamas, is now getting ready for QA testing with incorporation of all new features. The testing is an important part of the development process as it will take a look on new features from a user’s point of view.
QA testing for Moodle 3.2 will commence from 31st October and will continue for 4 weeks. Moodle 3.2 is scheduled to be released on 28th September 2016.
What is QA testing all about:
Quality Assurance tests look at the functionality of Moodle from a user’s point of view.
Real users systematically try each feature in Moodle and test that it works in the current version of the Moodle code. These tests are repeated in series of cycles, usually just before major releases.
Moreover, the community contributed quality assurance tests ensure fair testing by experienced users is carried out which will result in more improved code flow.
If you would like to contribute your efforts then you can also participate in the QA testing through the QA site – https://qa.moodle.net/ More information about getting involved with the QA testing is documented here – https://docs.moodle.org/dev/QA_testing
Meanwhile, you can check out the New Boost theme and test out its functionality on the QA site.
Let’s wait for getting my hands dirty with the QA tests and testing out the new features coming in Moodle 3.2 and making it truly as the “New Moodle”.
