New Plugin released this week in the Moodle Plugins database is “Meet The Students” block by Mikhail Janowski, which allows you to display profile pictures of students enrolled in a course so that students can easily see who they are studying with.

I feel that this block can improve the user interaction among students especially in a corporate training or distance education scenario. This kind of blocks can help the learners to know about the other participants in the same course and have an interaction with them.
While trying on my local development site on Moodle 2.9, I found a small bug in the block functioning which I have reported to the plugin maintainer. The link “Meet All Learners” under the block is supposed to take you to the enrolled users page of the course but if you have your Moodle installed in subdirectory on your server then it will take to a URL which is based on the Moodle installed in root directory.
