Paul Hibbitts Developoing a Course in the OpenPaul Hibbitts is a great supporter and contributor to the Moodle community. We’ve featured his work here before and I expect we’ll see him again in the not-to-distant future.

At the 2014 iMoot, Paul gave a wonderful presentation about “Developing a Course in the Open.” Which means, essentially, creating (or re-creating) a course with public access in an effort to receive critical feedback as the process unfolds with the expectation that will make the end product more valuable.

The presentation (see below) is a fantastic discussion that covers the benefits, risks, techniques, pitfalls and so much more. My favorite section is at minute 23:55, where Paul lays out specific lessons he learned when developing a course in the open (some of which are very specific and challenging).

What do you think about developing your materials and full courses in the open? Please leave your feedback in the comments section below.
