It is no secret that we (and, if we’re honest much of the Moodle Community) are big fans of Gareth Barnard’s work. He’s been a huge contributor to the community in many ways, but likely most famously with things like Essential, Shoehorn and Shoelace.
Little wonder then, that we were fairly excited to see Gareth put out his first commercial theme – called Monopage – on LMSMarketplace.com. The theme is clean, responsive and has, as Gareth mentions in the theme post:
just the right amount of features to provide adaptability without being overwhelming.
If you’d like to see a demonstration of the theme live, check it out here.
I also love the fact that Gareth always backs up his work, stating that:
This first release is offered at an initial introductory low price and comes with support in terms of dealing with any bugs pertaining directly to the theme within a reasonable time-scale. Once version 2.9.1 is released the full price will apply. Anybody purchasing this initial version will be entitled to version 2.9.1. If you find a bug, please see ‘Reporting issues’ in the ‘Readme’ file included with the theme.
I don’t think you can really go wrong for the low price of $20 USD. Click here to head over and buy it.
What do you think about the commercialization of themes for Moodle? Good, bad, ugly, best practice? Tell us in the comments below!
