iMoot Speaker Spotlight: @Josephthibault (that’s me!)

iMoot 2011 is just a week away and it’s shaping up to be a really great event.  I am extremely excited (and nervous) as this year I will be giving 2 sessions.  Last year I presented my experiences using a completely standard Moodle installation and Paypal for a small-scale training and certification program (the business is still going and credentialing students).  You can see my recap post here: http://lmspulse.com/2010/selling-courses-with-moodle-presentation-from-imoot2010/

This year my two sessions will cover a little bit of course-aesthetics and my personal experience writing and editing Moodlenews.com.

Many Faces of Moodle: this presentation will cover the various 3rd party course formats available for Moodle 1.9 at Moodle.org.  Project, Flex Page, Tabbed, Condensed Topics, and all of the standard ones available.  Come and see the same course transformed by the various “faces” that Moodle provides (and learn some tips and tricks for getting the most out of each format).

Unofficially News-worthy: the second presentation, which was suggested to me by Julian Ridden (@Moodleman) will cover how I got started at Moodlenews, what I’ve learned in the past ~18 months and the highs and lows of blogging for a specific community.

You can follow my personal tweets (mostly non-Moodle) at @Josephthibault.  I also blog a bit at Opensource.com, post sparingly at Josephthibault.com and contribute to Healthydoseof.com.
