Moodle 2 PR4 is now out (http://docs.moodle.org/en/Moodle_2.0_Preview_4_release_notes) which is fabulous news for the community (development is a solid 50% through the proposed 8 preview releases and on track for 7/20 release (only three weeks away!).

Fixes/improvements/development on PR4 includes

  • New enrollments plugin system
  • Themes
  • non-popup messaging interface
  • and much, much more (over 100 bug fixes)

In addition, the long awaited Moodle.org Open Community Hub (or MOOCH) has been opened for business–at least for a soft opening.  MOOCH is the hub feature that connects Moodle 2.0 installations using the Community Hub feature.  It allows content to be shared, courses to be searched for and found and educational opportunities to reach a wider audience.  Check out the MOOCH progress so far at: http://hub.moodle.org/.  Right now there are only a handful of courses to download/enroll in, but the usability and features seem to be intact.
