Caught this discussion and video via Twitter (@west4me; and thought it was a great tip.  You can create quick links to any course section/week by just minding the URL of those topics/sections.  Create your own navigation and course map easily using this process, outlined in a great video by Mary Cooch (@Moodlefairy).

Another way to accomplish something similar is to utilize the “Section Links” block which is default to Moodle.

This provides those links automatically in one place (however if you seek a more descriptive link name for your sections Mary’s way is the way to go).  Note that with Moodle 2.0, the navigation block will do some of this for you by default which is a great new feature (read more about the Moodle 2.0 navigation and other features).
