President of the Moodle Users Association, Emma Richardson, shares a new month’s worth of updates about the Association. In her March address, she discussed the Canada and Japan Moots, the current Project Development Cycles, and merch! Here are the updates:
Richardson has made an effort to make MUA more noticeable across the global community. In MoodleMoot Canada she had the opportunity to showcase what MUA has been doing to a broader audience. This could lead to an uptick in Canadian memberships.
MUA Secretary, Thom Rawson, represented the Association in MoodleMoot Japan 2018, held in Tokyo. Japan is home to an organized community, thanks to Professor Hideto Harashima, MUA member as well as president of the Moodle Users Association of Japan.
On the Project Development Cycle there are two live threads:
- On the “Expanded Question Bank Management” project, a prototype is available at qbank.prototype.moodle.org. At the time of writing, a recurring “database error” prevented further testing.
- The current Cycle was open for voting. 22 projects, the largest number ever, were in the running for members’ votes. The first round of voting ended this Wednesday. March 21st.
Finally, MUA has launched an online merchandising store. Mugs start at $11. Proceeds will go to support MUA awareness activities. (The Moodle Users Association is a not-for-profit entity under Australian law.)
