H5P, OER Voted Among Best Open Education Tools And Resources By Open Consortium | Estándar Interactivo H5P Recibe Reconocimiento Junto A Recursos Educativos Abiertos

The Open Consortium has announced the winners of the 2018 Open Education Awards for Excellence, an annual recognition for “contributions in the Open Education Commmunity.” In the latest release, it focuses on the “open resources, tools and practices” categories.

Perhaps the most noteworthy winner is H5P in “Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) for Education.” The tier is described by the Consortium as

«Efficient software application proven to be an essential tool for professionals, trainers and teachers for building, and delivering OER.»

After being notified of the award, Joubel, the Norwegian, Tromsø-based team led by Svein-Tore Griff and responsible for the open source technology thanked the community of users, creators, testers, translators, and open educators in general.

For the rest of the categories, Open Educational Resources are definitely a trend the Consortium members are behind. Here is the full list of categories and winners:

The Open Consortium is a global network of “openness” applied to education, where high-quality education and training is envisioned as a global right. Based in the US, it operates all over the world. It is funded by the Hewlett Foundation and its 20 members are mostly universities from various countries.
