Kailey Broussard, writer at University of Lousiana Lafayette campus paper The Vermillion, shares details on the innovative measures taken by the university to bundle, in one mobile app, a variety of digital services provided by Lafayette.
Not only does the Lafayette app provide a complete Moodle Mobile experience. It also gives users access to:
- Institutional email
- Account statements
- The campus social media site, RaginCajuns.com
- Campus Information, with complete, interactive tours that would also make it a valuable tool for occasional visitors.
Other integrated systems by third-party developer include Student Information System Banner, and network service ULink.
The app was developed by Higher Ed Tech company Ellucian, developers of Banner, often found integrated with Moodle across colleges.
UL Lafayette is not the only app created for the community. Broussard mentions the existence of apps for the readership program service and the campus police department.
