The creator, founder and CEO of Moodle has accepted the invitation by “Futurist educator” Bryan Alexander to join him in his “Future Trends Forum”, where he discusses current trends in Educational Technologies (EdTech) via live stream.
The invitation is open for anybody to join next Thursday, July 13th, from 2-3 pm EDT.
Alexander is opinionated about the LMS, considering it “controversial”, even though conceding its “nearly universal commonplace” standing:
I’m struck by how powerful a role the LMS still plays in educational technology, how deeply it is embedded in our enterprises and thinking, and how many diverse issues and trends it activates.
It is under this framework that he will host “cat-herder” Dougiamas (Alexander’s words), with whom he has been exchanging virtually for some time. Alexander’s fair share of skepticism will meet Dougiamas optimistic view of the role of tech-aided teachers in the future of global learning. The talk is expected to cover mobile, gamification, big data, analytics, personalization, “and more?”
He invites you and all to send questions for Alexander to ask Dougiamas. Do so by leaving a comment on his post on bryanalexander.org.
