Essential Theme for Moodle – the most versatile and acclaimed free Moodle theme in recent years, is updated to a new version compatible with Moodle 3.3. Essential is among the most downloaded Moodle themes ever and still maintains its popularity. In the last 3 months, Essential theme is downloaded more than 60k times from the Moodle plugins directory (Moodle Stats).
Since its release, Essential is among the top 3 table topper Moodle plugins in terms of usage, downloads and features. The first version of the theme was developed by Julian Ridden for Moodle 2.5 and afterwards it is being maintained actively by Gareth J Barnard through crowdfunding.
Recently, Gareth released the updated stable version of the Essential theme compatible with Moodle 3.3. The new version comes with following improved features:
- FIX: No transparency between flat navigation list groups.
- FIX: Required field icon.
- NEW: Course title position feature setting.
- NEW: Side pre block background, text, link and link hover settings.
