For the first time, the Collaborative Liberal Arts Moodle Project (CLAMP) is offering travel support for those interested in attending their “Hack/Doc Fest” scheduled for June.
One of CLAMP’s landmark initiatives, Hack/Doc Fests are a chance to meet fellow advocates of applying Open Source technologies to critical thinking, among the many bases of a liberal education. But this is not your regular networking event. Although you don’t have to be a programmer to join, it is expected that you will help develop new features, fix bugs, test features, or write documentation for Moodle.
“Everyone talks about collaboration (…) Moodle Hack/Doc Fest is where CLAMP does collaboration.”
With the travel grants, CLAMP hopes to encourage participation, particularly from newcomers. For the summer event, three reimbursable grants of up to $500 USD will be available.
Applicants for the travel grant must be responsible for supporting or maintaining Moodle at a CLAMP member liberal arts institution. The application deadline is Wednesday, May 10th. Apply here.
The Summer of 2017 Hack/Doc Fest will take place Wednesday, June 21-23, at Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts, approximately two hours away from Boston.
