BREAKING: Moodle 3.3 Delayed

HQ Moodle Marina Glancy just announced Moodle 3.3 will be delayed. No upcoming date has been announced at this time.

On a Moodle forum thread, she explains that to date, the QA pass rate for the test is just above 70%, far from the 80% minimum set by internal Moodle HQ standards, let alone the 100% pass rate that has been customary for the recent releases.

Previous major or “1-point” release, Moodle 3.2, also suffered a delay, associated with the development of the “Boost” theme. This time, it seems the reasons involve insufficient user testing by the community. Moodle QA test relies on user feedback. It would be the first time a delay is affected by low community response, if true.

Glancy invites the community to join the QA phase for Moodle 3.3.

The minor or “2-point” updates for active development versions is still scheduled for Monday, May 8th. It includes 3.2.3 and the last updates for Moodle 3.0 and 2.7, a Long Term Support version of Moodle.
