We’ve covered the Faces and Sign In Sheets blocks before here at MoodleNews and we’re excited to see they have recently been updated for Moodle 3.0. These tools provide methods for you to make sure no one is gaming your classes.
The Sign in Sheet block does exactly what it says: it creates a printable list of your students that you can use for physical sign in. This is a requirement for some institutions. It is also a way for teachers to use attendance as a classroom incentive.
The Faces block provides you with a printable sheet of all the profile images of your student roster. You can use this to help with name recognition and engender familiarity within your course.
