Moodle 3.2 which is the next stable release of the Moodle and is scheduled to be released in November 2016 will see a lot of new changes like a new Theme and Navigation improvements, a new Graph API etc.
Apart from the other changes, the most notable from a students point of view will be the overhauled Messaging and Notifications page which has not been updated from quite sometime.
The new project is a redesign of the Messaging and Notifications including:
- The messages preferences pages
- The way messages and notifications are displayed to the user in the page (in the header now)
- The pages for managing contacts and conversations
There are some wireframes designed to get early feedback about the design which can be checked here. The Moodle tracker issue for this Epic project is MDL-54682.
There is already something developed for the project which can be accessed on the Prototype Moodle site here – http://prototype.moodle.net/new-messaging/
You can also suggest your opinion about the changes in the Messaging and Notifications page in the Moodle tracker and help improve the Moodle project.
