As one of the plugins honored with the “Early Bird” Badge for Moodle 3.2, IT staff looking to upgrade from previous versions of Moodle can benefit from the new features and still feel at home with a familiar face, right from the start.
“Adaptable”, as its name implies, gives a designer plenty of control on how and where Moodle elements, contents and activities are displayed. “Adaptable”‘s magic happens in the Layout Builders, regions with full CSS and jQuery customization that can be added on any page.
December’s “Adaptable” comes with:
- Pop-up messages customization options.
- Settings for Block Header.
- Spanish option out-of-the-box.
- New style for Quizzes.
Installation can be in two ways, both requiring administrative permissions. To install automatically, visit the Moodle plugin directory page while logged in and click on the “Install Now” button. It will lead you to a page showing the installations where you can install, along with a click to do it. To download manually, click on “Download”, then on the Moodle site go to
Administration > Site administration > Plugins > Install plugins and upload the compressed theme package or drag-and-drop. Finally, go
Administration > Site administration > Appearance > Themes > Theme Selector to enable “Adaptable”.
“Adaptable” is available for download from Moodle.org/plugins.
It is also found on its BitBucket repository, where its code is available for free inspection and editing.
