This plugin attempts to solve a common problem in schools and academia. As part of an application process, recommendation letters are often required. With this plugin, the person recommending the student can access an open page where they can fill out a recommendation.
Students can request the recommendation with only with name and email address of the individual. The recommender does not need a user role in Moodle.
Teachers can see a recommendation page for each student. The email address validates the authenticity of the recommender. From this page, they can accept or reject the recommendation, explaining why if necessary.
A dashboard will show the student the status of the recommendation, whether it’s pending, completed, accepted or rejected. The student will not be able to see the content of the recommendation.
The lead maintainer of Recommendation Letter Requests is Moodle HQ’s Marina Glancy. Besides working on the plugin, she is Moodle’s Development Process Manager.
Version 1.2 of Recommendation Letter Request plugin guarantees Moodle 3.1 compatibility. Download it from Moodle.
