Grid Course Format for Moodle has been updated to a new version for Moodle 3.0. Grid Course format is a visual course format which creates a grid of icons for all topics (one for each topics) and hides all default topics.
In a recent post on Moodle Forums, Gareth J Barnard , the superman who maintains many popular Moodle plugins like Essential, Shoehorn, Shoelace, Collapsed Topics, Noticeboard and many more, posted about the release of the new stable version of the Grid course format for Moodle 3.0

The best thing about the Grid course format is that the topic contents will open in a overlay without leaving the course page in the background which results in improved accessibility of course topics and faster access to the course resources.
You can check out the latest version of the Grid Course plugin for Moodle here. The version for Moodle 2.9 is also updated with fixed bugs and improvements which are mentioned here.
