Steve Ambro, one of the Moodle community member from United States, faced problem after setting up the Generico filter on his Moodle site as there is no “How-To” guide available which can describe what can be achieved by using Generico in your Moodle course.
He discussed in Moodle forums about the capabilities of the Generico filter e.g. where it can be used and if there is any ready to use how-to guides are available for that.
After that he came up with a nice How-To guide on Generico filters especially for the first time users. In the pathfinder guide, he clearly explained about How to installing the Generico plugins, configuring them and using the various templates available with the Generico filter.Generico Pathfinder - A “How to” guide on Generico Filters for the first time users #Moodle
You can check out the Generico pathfinder here – We had previously covered the Generico showcase in this post where many community members shared their Generico templates with others.

About Generico Filter:

Generico is a simple templating filter, that allows you to set up text and code snippet templates for use in Moodle text areas. It will allow an unlimited number of templates to be registered. When Moodle encounters a Generico filter string it will use the data in the filter string to fill out the template, and insert it into the page. You can download the Generico plugins from the Moodle plugins database here and here.
