It is always a hot topic and conversation in whole Moodle community about the major trends in recent years and how they are going to affect Moodle. Stephen Downes – Learning and Performance Support Systems program at the National Research Council shared his presentation about “Extending Moodle“.
The presentation shares some major trends of recent years, how these have impacted Moodle (including a discussion of some Moodle extensions addressing them) and some observations about future trends that will impact how Moodle developers will want to adapt the technology in the future.
The presentation poses the two challenges:

  • How can an educational application support, integrate within, and measure the total state?
  • How can the learner maintain his/her identity and integrity from environment to environment?
