The Moodle Glossary Entries plugin lets you create a bank of short questions from glossary entries. It also allows you to export the answers from multiple choice quizzes into glossary entries.
Glossaries in Moodle are XML-structured files. For the translation from entry to quiz, the term becomes the right choice, and the definition is the prompt. Some documentation is available on docs.moodle.org.
Some Moodlers are opinionated about plugins. Despite having a clear standards guideline, programming always offer more than one way to solve a problem. Developers tend to group small fixes into one plugin thinking each one does not merit a standalone application. In fact, there is a certain agreement across the experience spectrum preferring small and efficient plugins. They are also easier to try and test. It is why Moodle Glossary Entries is a favorite in team “small and efficient”.
