This request for proposals from the Genesee Intermediate School District is asking for education technology vendors to submit their application to be the providers of a web-based classroom readiness Learning Management System. According to the overview and announcement it’s seeking those vendors with the experience and expertise to develop and deploy a “web-based resource solution that will be available to all educators throughout the State of Michigan” which will be used for professional learning by state teachers.
It’s expected that the LMS will support 80,000 – 100,000 users, support self-enrollment, certifications, host video and other content and provide an easy to use interface for finding and enrolling in new courses. Full project description and specifications are provided here: http://www.geneseeisd.org/DocumentCenter/View/4110
As an LMS Moodle is well suited to provide the list of requirements, if you’re a vendor looking to expand your clientele to a statewide initiative in Michigan, this is your chance.
