The US Moodle Moot registration deadline has been extended a few more days to accommodate the Moodler/procrastinators out there. This gives you time to finally sign up for the event so that you can hear all the great keynotes, have a chance to say “hi” to Martin Dougiamas and even grab me to chat about anything Moodle (I’ll be there!). This year’s US Moot is the first stateside event organized by Moodle HQ on the heels of their success at the Australian Moodle Moot in July.
Registration is open and available here: https://mootus15.moodlemoot.org/mod/page/view.php?id=29
The Moot is also a great place to get involved in steering new features and functionality in Moodle through the Working Groups which could have a lasting and significant impact on core Moodle. One of the most prominent of the past Working Groups brought to bear the great changes in the Moodle gradebook (fixed headers, simpler grade calculations, etc.). This Moot’s working groups will focus on Moodle Instructional Assistant (think of it as a kind of course “wizard” to facilitate more engaging courses), Gradebook (further refinements and improvements), and Learning Analytics (which I’m most interested in). Check out the full descriptions and info on how to volunteer at https://mootus15.moodlemoot.org/mod/page/view.php?id=25.
