Moodlerooms is gearing up to release Moodle 2.9 to its clients worldwide this December. This includes updates to Mahara, the Snap theme and the regular feature set and improvements that Moodle 2.9 brought to bear in May 2015.
One interesting shift for Moodlerooms from their video comes at 21 minutes into the presentation where Jason Hardin of Blackboard/Moodlerooms starts to talk about the usability features in their release which will help to minimize having to turn editing on in order to change your course, upload files, or edit certain features. There are some really great improvements highlighted.
If done well, this could improve usability for instructors. Check it out at https://youtu.be/-A-deNczu7A?t=21m20s
