mass action block clem smith moodle

The plugin find of the week is one I’m sure many instructors will appreciate: the Mass Actions Block from Clem Smith.

Here is the scenario – you have a large class in which you need to move a resource from one place to another, or maybe you need to delete something for everyone in the course to replace it with an updated version. The Mass Actions Block is your friend by saving you a ton of clicks and keystrokes for:

  1. Mass selection of items
  2. Indentation
  3. Deletion
  4. Hiding
  5. Showing
  6. Moving

The block is updated to 2.9 and, according to, it doesn’t play well with the OneTopic format. Clem gives a workaround for this:

change course formats to another format (Weekly or Topics are well-tested), move the course content around, then change the course format back to OneTopic.

You can download the plugin from the Moodle database here.
