If you’ll recall, in Moodle versions prior to 2.6 there was a SCORM course format which would allow you to just launch a SCORM player as the full course for students. In 2.6 this changed with the introduction of “Single Activity Course Format”. The format still will allow you to choose a SCORM package as the course, but also gives you the flexibility of using any other activity type as the course experience (the activity will open directly when the student accesses the course).
I can think of a few ways this might be handy with placement tests, essay applications, and other one time activities that students must complete.
