With a code freeze in effect Moodle.org has kicked off the Quality Assurance and Testing cycle for it’s next release. The QA cycle is an opportunity for the community to try regular Moodle processes just as they would on their own sites to ensure that nothing has broken or become non-functional as a result of new code being introduced, it also tests new features to ensure that everything is working as planned.

The QA cycle for 2.8 includes over 400 tests that anyone can claim and run through to provide feedback or verify that everything is working. As usual this is a community-led effort. If you’re interested in volunteering some time to help out and get these tracker tickets cleared one way or the other sign up at https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=272543.

Though the cycle was kicked off only yesterday the community is already almost 25% through the total tests. Here comes Moodle 2.8!

Red represents the number of total tests, green is tests completed.
