The Authentication by IP user plugin provides a new way to limit some users (users who have this method identified in their user profiles) to login only from certain defined IPs. If you run a residential campus Moodle site or find yourself in a scenario where all or just some students should only be accessing Moodle from computer labs, on campus or within a limited range of school you’re in luck. Once installed you can identify any IP addresses where those uses can login (and all others will prevent them from authenticating).
