I. Job Description:
I’m looking for a tech-savvy newsletter coordinator to pull together and publish a regular newsletter that incorporates highlights from Moodlenews and elsewhere. Candidates should have experience in editing web-based page layouts, understand design, have experience coordinating mass mailings and editing/copywriting for email based publications. Specific newsletter or mass email application experience is not required, though familiarity with one or two generally is expected.
- Love of Moodle, Moodle user or open source community member
- Experience formatting in HTML, creating or using email templates and sending email newsletters
- Experience with a blast email system (Tinyletter, MailChimp, Constant Contact, etc.)
- A touch of graphic design maybe required (to make the newsletters look great)
- Candidates should be interested in building a subscriber base from zero
Each week or bi-weekly (negotiable) the newsletter coordinator will create a newsletter to be delivered via email to recipients. Newsletters will includes a synopsis of popular posts at Moodlenews and elsewhere. This longer form format will be a quick glance at what is happening more broadly in Moodle-dom and will hopefully, over time develop longer form information, regular themes or other partnerships. This publication will be aimed at both current subscribers and new subscribers only signing up for the newsletter. The publication will be sent via email but also published to the web available as a link (which can be shared through the Moodlenews Twitter account and its current 5000+ followers.
I am looking for someone immediately to start this project and assume that we will publish each week or bi-weekly (negotiable).
Monthly payments for each newsletter sent, commensurate with assumed time investment. Opportunities to share in ad revenue by growing subscriber list.
