After over a week’s hiatus the Moodle.org forums functionality have been restored (though their is a sizeable lapse in posts from the restored Moodle database from October 19th all of the way through the 14th of November). There’s a flurry of activity in the short time that they’ve reopened as well.
Glad to see that things are back to normal (and that Moodle.org is now running a version of Moodle 2.6!).
Check out Martin Dougiamas’ announcement here: https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=243129 (or below),
Moodle.org is open again for all to post, and running a beta version of Moodle 2.6.
Sadly, because of the recent crash, it is without posts made between October 19th and November 6th. We’ll keep working on recovering those from a corrupted disk and may re-insert them in the future, but at this stage the chances of recovering all of the missing data are slim.
The data loss was caused by a system administration issue, not Moodle itself. Our system admin Matthew will post here soon to explain what happened.
Stay tuned for additional posts related to and explaining the nature of the problem at https://moodle.org/mod/forum/view.php?id=82
