The new Course Search plugin by Shashikant Vaishnav has been released in beta and feedback on the new tool is being requested.  Course Search was one of the Google Summer of Code projects this summer (not to be confused with Global Search, an additional GSOC project underway for 2013). Shashikant has posted his code, updates and other relevant information in a Moodle forum and is asking for feedback as he continues to test and QA the tool.
