The popular tool, BigBlueButton, which is a communications platform liken to Adobe Connect or Blackboard Collaborate and can be integrated to Moodle through two plugins has been released and is available to the community. BigBlueButton is a synchronous classroom tool complete with video, white board, screen share, chat and more. The addon for integrating BigBlueButton to Moodle has been one of the top downloads of late.
This 11th release features Recording, accessibility improvements, LTI support, and more.
Check out the full release notes here: https://code.google.com/p/bigbluebutton/wiki/ReleaseNotes
Download the integration addon at: https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=mod_bigbluebuttonbn (note that while the integration comes with credentials you can use to demo, you’ll also need to install and run Big Blue Button on a server if you want to use it for your classes, download the code and read installation tips using the link above).
If anybody wants to try the new BigBlueButton and it’s integration with Moodle without any hassles we are giving the service for free at our three free Moodle hosting sites: http://www.gnomio.com/, http://www.mdl2.com/ and http://www.milaulas.com/
We don’t want to spam your blog. We only need some feedback to know if our current BigBlueButton server is enough for hosting several small conferences at the same time.
Thank you.
Gnomio,
You can get good information on testing your BigBlueButton server at the BigBlueButton Google Code site (see the FAQ).
If you need help from the BigBlueButton community, see

This is a great update! We are using it for K-12 and the feature I like the most is the ability to easily switch meeting layouts. I still haven’t found a better product that fully integrates as smoothly as BBB does with Moodle or WordPress.
