If you’ve ever wanted to ditch the topic numbers in your Moodle course for text titles only, the Sections course format is for you. Like the weekly or topics format it organizes your course vertically by topic, but instead of including numbers (where the main topic is 0, then each lower incremented by 1) it just has a place to add your course topic summary.  No more numbers!

Once installed on your Moodle just select a course and edit the settings.  Topics (no numbers) will be listed as a new format:

What you’ll get is the familiar layout, just without the topic numbers.  As an alternative, here’s another way you can accomplish the same (http://www.moodleblog.net/?p=593) without using the course format.  To get the course format visit the Moodle.org Plugins repository: http://moodle.org/mod/data/view.php?d=13&rid=4987.
