This year marks the 4th annual festival of Moodle in Edmonton on May 1st through 5th, 2011.  This year’s theme is “Open Learning and Open Collaboration”; according to the notice sent to all registered users at,

Athabasca University, in partnership with the Canadian Moodle community and with support from the Technology Enhanced Knowledge Research Institute, is hosting the CanadaMoot May 1-5, 2011 at the Mayfield Inn & Suites in Edmonton, Canada. A virtual program will be provided for those who cannot attend in person.

Conference keynoters include Martin Dougiamas (Moodle Founder) and Stephen Downes (a contemporary pioneer in online learning).

  • Early bird registration for physical attendance, valid until 2/27/11 for attending in person is $345 (CAN).  Note that the pre-conference days levy an additional fee.
  • Early bird registration for virtual attendance for the event is currently $165.  Note that both registration costs rise after February 27th.
