Here’s a video that highlights one of the easy ways available for converting course content from 1.9 to 2.0 (the other way is upgrading the entire site on which a course has been restored/built). The process uses ConversionThingy2 (by Peter Friesen), which we’ve highlighted here before [link]. It works pretty well converting the standard Moodle modules but does leave some manual configuration and re-arrangement once the conversion have been restored.
The video was created by Wake Tech Distance Education (WakeTechTechEd) and can be viewed below or here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y06PUJmXvfk.

Note that ConversionThingy2 also works for Angel LMS to Moodle as well.
Hello,
I have just used the Conversion Thingy 2 and it has converted all my labels, activities, resources into Moodle 2 format.
In Moodle 1.9 I had the Page format and in Moodle 2 I had the topic and collapsed Topic format. When I restored the converted back up file to Moodle 2, all of the labels got sorted into different topics so there is a bit of work re organising for aesthetic reasons.
On the whole a good program, conversion was completed in a matter of minutes.
May I know if it support for converting 1.9.7 to Moodle2.0? I tried it but the program does not take any actions after I selected my backup file. Any suggestions?
