The 2011 US Moodle Moot in Rohnert Park, CA which will take place this July 12th-14th and now there’s a new site available where you can get involved and connect with fellow Mooters.
- The Moot site is http://www.moot-us.com/
- The Moot Social site (Ning-powered) is http://moodlemootus.ning.com/
Do you find it interesting that they opted for a non-Moodle social site with the new features of Moodle 2.0? I do too, but according to the @Moodlerooms Twitter account the tools and features of Ning made more sense for their vision of this site as a “simple social extension”.
Check out and join the US Moot Ning today and connect with your peers (or even find someone for a cross-country road trip). Registration for the US Moot in California is open now ($225 until 5/2, $250 thereafter): http://www.moot-us.com/home/register/
I don’t find it that weird. I’ve participated in a few Nings that facilitated conferences and it’s worked well. It seems more “social networky” and simple/easy to navigate. Of course you can make Moodle that way if you dedicate some time! Thanks for the post, I’m glad we can start networking before the conference.
