Here’s a slick-looking site and course that you can check out. There isn’t much content yet, but the overall site design (which is part of a commercial site setup by is pretty nice:

Post Pages - Post Inline - WIRIS

The course [Using Moodle], which consists of a few tips (“5 Basic Steps for Using Moodle” is nice) and some discussions has a nice layout with icons/buttons leading to the various pieces and resources. Overall a great design aesthetic.

Check it out at  Good lookin’ Moodle.

  1. What I love about this is that it proves you don’t need to be a genius at web development or pay someone a small fortune to get a good looking moodle.

All I actually see here is the standard white theme for moodle with some nice html in the frontpage and topic zero of the course.
The use of buttons in the head of a course navigation page are becomming an increasingly popular way to improve the moodle UI and I think we will see a lot more sites like this in the future (well we will if I am building them!).

Nice to see more and more people thinking outside of the box with their moodles 🙂

  2. Thanks Mike, we love it too 🙂 Yes, we believe that with a little clever out of the box thinking, we can definitely take moodle’s UI to the next level. This is actually one of the most basic UIs we have built.
