Great news: the Moodle 2.0 Release Candidate 1 was released today September 21st.

Unfortunately for many it’s only an additional milestone down and one step closer to a stable release. According to the release notes:
For minimal issues, wait until the official Moodle 2.0 release in about a month.
October here we come!
UPDATE 9/22: now it’s looking like November…
Expected final release date: Early November, 2010 (if testing goes well) [link]
While its behind schedule, its nice to see frequent feedback and updates from the Moodle HQ! Wouldnt get that with most software providers.
So true. Moodle2.0’s release will be a great day. I’m looking forward to using it for a new project (but a stable release is necessary).
You can try it in http://aula2.redescuela.com it’s free
also, always checkout the official demo site: http://qa.moodle.net
I think its wise to not rush bug testing. As someone said on the moodle.org forums, “Users will quickly forget, or never know, that Moodle 2.0 was late by a few months. However a bad release will be remembered for a long time.”
Excellent point.
