It’s not too late to register for the first ever iMoot! http://imoot.org/register
iMoot2010 is just gearing up (keynote by Martin Dougiamas starts in minutes!) and it’s been a really exciting from the presenter perspective (I am presenting Thursday at 2:30 PM PST on the topic of Selling Courses through Moodle).
As the first ever iMoot, it’s definitely setting the bar high and delivering. Julian Ridden and the other iMoot administrators have been working tirelessly to make sure all of the presenters have all of the tools and technical requirements to hit the ground running when the conference starts today. And they are doing a GREAT job.
As a presenter we all were given our own spaces online which were propagated with a consistent and easily navigable summary topic area. Each presenter builds their content and any links into the bottom area of the presentation space, but really the magic will happen once the presenter and attendees click the Elluminate bridge link.
This is my first experience with a working bridge with Elluminate (which is a premium product, with a free integration module/plug-in). I have to say that the webinar software is really keen. It’s sharp, very fast and has all of the bells and whistles you can imagine. What’s more, is that the plug-in allows for a really seamless transition from Moodle to Elluminate. One click and as long as you have the correct software installed you’re into the session.
If you’re interested in trying out Elluminate, you can for free at LearnCentral.org (all sessions are “public” but that’s not to say that you can’t effectively use it for you own class meetings and discussions). Unfortunately there is no plug-in that allows you to link your Moodle site to LearnCentral. The Elluminate bridge plug-in is available on Moodle.org at:
