The Moodle 2.0 theme set that’s included with the core code has grown tremendously and is a far cry from the “Metal” and “Wood” mainstays of 1.9 and previous.  These really are some class act themes and a lot of the credit is due to Patrick Malley (@ptrkmkl) of New School Learning who rebuilt the Moodle theme engine, provided a 1st glimpse at what could be created and facilitated the Moodle 2.0 theme contest which attracted the likes of Sky High and Splash (see the gallery below).

Check out any of the themes in more detail by trying them out on a Moodle 2.0 install or by visiting, logging in as a teacher and forcing the theme either courses’ settings.
